Larry E. Ball

Larry E. Ball went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2024.

He was born on October 18, 1940 in Noble County, to the late Raymond & Mary Ruth (Baker) Ball.

Larry graduated from Valley Rural High School in 1959.  He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the United Mine Workers Association.  He worked all his life, starting at 16 delivering milk for Woody Broom.  At 18, he worked on road construction.  Then, 36 years at Central Ohio Coal Company, as a drill mechanic.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and camping.  He cherished his family.  Diana, Karie, and Christopher helped him do many things and they have memories of all the many things he taught them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Leon (& Betty) Ball; his nephew, David Ball; and a much loved grandson-in-law, Eric McCauley.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Teddy (Hoots) Ball, whom he married March 14, 1959; his daughter, Diana (& Chris) Hall; his granddaughter, Karie McCauley; his grandson, Christopher (& Andrea) Hall; his two great-grandsons, Carter McCauley and Paxton Hall – he loved watching them at their sporting events; his sister, Carolyn (& Roger) Wilson; his brother, Delmas (& Donna) Ball; his sister-in-law, Cynthia (& Toney) Oakley; and many friends, nieces, & nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday (April 19, 2024) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church (500 S 7th Street, Cambridge), where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating.

Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions to one of the following organizations: 1) Faith United Methodist Church’s Missions & Ministry Program, 500 S 7th Street, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
